How Can We Help?

Using Kofax Software with Microsoft Office 365 applications

< All Topics

Microsoft Office 365 offers either online versions of the Microsoft Office applications (such as Word, Outlook and Excel) through a web browser or enables you to download desktop versions of the Office applications (or both depending on the Microsoft Office product).

When using Office Online, the Office applications are not actually installed on the local computer, they are accessed as Web Apps.

The following Kofax Desktop products are not supported when running Office 365 Online:

  • PDF Converter Professional
  • OmniPage
  • PaperPort

Note: Kofax Desktop products may have application add-ins (such as toolbar buttons) that are typically enabled in Microsoft Office desktop applications to improve the experience.  When running Microsoft Office Online, these application add-ins will not be enabled.

To take advantage of all the features of Kofax Desktop products, we recommend using a local installation of Microsoft Office.  Certain subscription plans to Microsoft Office 365 include the local desktop version of Microsoft Office.  For more information on Microsoft Office 365, please click here.  For additional information on Microsoft Office 365 and plans that include the local desktop versions of Microsoft Office, please visit Microsoft’s web site.
